In the case of the arc wire process, two wire formed electrodes which may be of the same or dissimilar materials are brought together and a high current arc is produced which results in melting. A spraying gas such as compressed air is used to accelerate the particles onto the prepared surface.
Rhein Ruhr Beschichtungs Service utilises gas or compressed air in order to prevent deformation or microstructure phase changes in the substrate.
With this process all metallic substrates can be coated which have a hardness of less than 50 Rockwell C.
